“I was diagnosed in June 2017 after feeling a lump in the shower.”
I am a mother of three young kids (12, 10, and 7 at the time) and was 42 at the time, with no family history of Breast CA. I ended up having a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy and underwent radiation. I feel such immense gratitude for my health and have learned not to take life for granted.
I very often am asked what to feel for or how I knew that what I was feeling was abnormal. I cannot stress how important it is for women (and men) to know your breasts. Know your normal- know your lumps and bumps. If you know your normal, you will know if something changes.
