Dr. Stacy Smith-Foley, Medical Director of The Breast Center at CARTI

Dr. Stacy Smith-Foley is a seasoned physician with over 17 years of clinical experience in breast imaging. She currently serves as the Medical Director of The Breast Center at CARTI. Dr. Smith-Foley completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Arkansas and earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She then went on to complete her Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Tennessee and a fellowship in breast imaging at the University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

Contributions to the Field

Dr. Smith-Foley has co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and has participated in multiple breast imaging reader studies. She is a leader in her field, serving on the Hologic Scientific Advisory Board and advising Beekley Medical. Her work focuses on detecting and diagnosing breast cancer, offering genetic testing, and providing supplemental screening for women with dense breasts and high-risk screening with MRI.

Personal Life and Philosophy

Dr. Smith-Foley is not just a physician; she’s also a wife of 27 years and a mother of two. She understands the importance of women’s health and is passionate about empowering women to take charge of their health. She has been in private practice for more than 17 years in various settings and refers to herself as a breast imaging specialist because her role extends beyond just interpreting images.
