From a Sister’s Perspective

Breast Cancer Affects Everyone You Love

“Beyond witnessing my sister’s courage and bravery in the face of her own mortality with grace and love, we have grown together to face not only cancer together but the rest of our lives.”

“When do you separate yourself from the pain of your sister. Especially if she is your baby sister. You don’t.”

Watching my sister face this awful disease was heart wrenching. I held her hand through the phone and as much as I could figuratively everyday so she wouldn’t feel so alone.

As she walked through this, I walked through it. In my own way, with my own fears.

Beyond witnessing my sister’s courage and bravery in the face of her own mortality with grace and love, we have grown together to face not only cancer together but the rest of our lives.

I will not leave my sister’s side as we walk through this journey alone and together.

Her courage, her bravery and her passion for helping others inspires me every day to not leave the side of any one walking through pain alone.
