Medicare’s Contractor (MolDX) is proposing a policy that would block access to personalized breast cancer risk tests that help women and their breast cancer doctors decide whether breast radiation will help them. These biomarker tests, DCISionRT® and Oncotype Dx DCIS®, have been extensively validated, and are used by thousands of breast cancer physicians and have impacted 50,000+ women with stage 0 breast cancer known as Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS). If this policy passes, women will lose access to personalized testing and be pushed into outdated, one-size-fits-all treatment, meaning they will continue to be overtreated with radiation therapy. We ask CMS to withdraw this dangerous draft policy now.
We need access to tools that help us and our doctors make informed decisions — especially after a Stage 0 breast cancer diagnosis.
