Sure, so I mean I think that thankfully it’s been a conversation that’s been you know happening more and more. And so I do find that my patients are more commonly informed about this, but certainly that was not the case even five years ago, maybe not even two years ago.
People like, you know, Katie Couric sharing that she has a breast tissue and a breast cancer diagnosis. Of course, that really brings visibility to something like this. There’s been a lot of legislation both on the state level and the federal level or at least pushes towards legislation and then with this FDA reporting change, I do think that the conversation is becoming more commonplace.”

With over a decade of experience, she specializes in interpreting multiple modalities of radiologic imaging, detecting and diagnosing cancer through imaging and imaging-guided biopsies. Dr. Malik works closely with physicians across multiple specialties to offer the best care for her patients.
Dr. Malik’s educational journey includes a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, followed by her MD from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Her experience during Hurricane Katrina significantly shaped her career and approach to patient care.

The five-year survival rate for women who catch their cancer early is nearly 100%. Here’s an important statistic. Many women do not perform self-breast exams or see a doctor for regular screenings. We will feature stories of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and share their journeys.
There are several ways to diagnose breast cancer, including mammograms, biopsies, and ultrasounds. Once breast cancer is diagnosed, there are a few treatment options available, including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. The best way to treat breast cancer is to catch it early and to get the best treatment possible.
There is a strong community of women who have been affected by breast cancer. In addition, there are a number of organizations and resources available to help women find the support they need.
