In September of 2020, I went to the gynecologist, and I said it’s just so firm on this side and they were like oh you just have dense breast. I went back two months later I said the same thing it’s just really firm like when I touch it like just feels firm they’re like. No no you just have dense breast. I’m like okay I had started to get like rashes on my cheeks which I thought was rosacea, I went to another doctor like dermatologist and they’re like no this isn’t rosacea and I’m like okay which now in retrospect I’m like was it sort of the inflammatory beat and my body was responding because my current dermatologist who’s also a breast cancer survivor she had said often your body will respond in different ways it’s not going to like maybe I didn’t have a red splotchy here but it was showing up like in other ways.
Allison DiPasquale, MD, is a Breast Surgical Oncologist at Texas Oncology. She is dedicated to the treatment and cure of breast cancer, benign breast diseases and high-risk genetic patients. She decided at an early age to dedicate her career to those affected with breast cancer. Dr. DiPasquale strives to progress the field of breast cancer surgery and push the needle forward in terms of Surgical technique and innovation.
Katrina is in the process of writing a book that narrates her journey with breast cancer. Unlike traditional memoirs on the subject, she aims to present her story in a novelistic format, giving cancer and her brain their own characters.
