So if we’re going to be talking about insurance companies starting to cover you know mammograms when we’re younger and having earlier diagnosis in women these women you know typically have faster growing cancers and may need chemotherapy or other agents up front which then can impede their fertility in the future so my next you know kind of soapbox is to you know go out to insurance companies and talk about fertility preservation how they need to cover that and how important that is for young women.”
Allison DiPasquale, MD, is a Breast Surgical Oncologist at Texas Oncology. She is dedicated to the treatment and cure of breast cancer, benign breast diseases and high-risk genetic patients. She decided at an early age to dedicate her career to those affected with breast cancer. Dr. DiPasquale strives to progress the field of breast cancer surgery and push the needle forward in terms of Surgical technique and innovation.
Katrina is in the process of writing a book that narrates her journey with breast cancer. Unlike traditional memoirs on the subject, she aims to present her story in a novelistic format, giving cancer and her brain their own characters.
