I want to just talk a little bit about letting go of people in your life during the transformation from being healthy to the journey of breast cancer. I had to give up some friends because they didn’t understand the process and they didn’t lead me in the direction which was hope and faith. They led me in the direction of abandonment and fear and it troubled me at the time but looking back it was such a blessing to just disperse people that weren’t on your team, really on your team. So pick the people that are on your team, pick the people that you want to focus on and keep those people close tight. They will always show up for you. The ones that don’t weren’t meant for you
My mission is to show that true beauty comes from the inside. The depth of pain cannot stop anyone from accomplishing anything in the beauty space. Christine is proof of that. Her role in fashion started as a young model. It has blossomed into a platform for her to teach and inspire inclusivity of all women in the fashion and modeling space. Whether by brand inclusion or representing the flat or concave breast cancer collective on the runway.
Christine has been connected with Learn Look Locate for a few years as an Ambassador to help generate change. She fully supports Cynthia Jordan’s drive to educate and empower women and men in the breast cancer space.
Cynthia Jordan, Founder of Learn Look Locate LLC in 2018 has generated a global movement to provide critical education for the early detection of breast cancer. It is estimated that one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. While most of these cases are diagnosed in women over the age of 50, the disease can affect women of any age. Early detection is critical to survival, yet many women are not familiar with the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
We advocate the importance of self-breast exams, what to look for when performing a self-exam, and when to see a doctor. We provide resources for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as for their families and friends.
The five-year survival rate for women who catch their cancer early is nearly 100%. Here’s an important statistic. Many women do not perform self-breast exams or see a doctor for regular screenings. Learn Look Locate LLC wants to highlight the work of organizations around the world that are working to promote early detection of breast cancer. We will feature stories of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and share their journeys.
There are several ways to diagnose breast cancer, including mammograms, biopsies, and ultrasounds. Once breast cancer is diagnosed, there are a few treatment options available, including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. The best way to treat breast cancer is to catch it early and to get the best treatment possible.
There is a strong community of women who have been affected by breast cancer. In addition, there are a number of organizations and resources available to help women find the support they need.
