Biography
Alex Cosimano, PharmD, CSP is a board-certified specialty pharmacist and community-based specialty pharmacy manager with over 15 years of experience. Currently serving as the Pharmacy Manager at Walgreens at UHealth Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Alex brings a wealth of experience in community and specialty pharmacy, oncology infusion, and research.
Alex has played a key role in developing and executing team member training for the Walgreens Feel More Like You® (FMLY) service, a program designed to help cancer patients, customers, and caregivers manage the side effects of cancer at no cost. In response to the challenges posed by COVID-19, Alex helped launch the Walgreens FMLY virtual support group and served as the pharmacist for the first bilingual virtual support group.
His current focus is on oral chemotherapy, targeted agents, and supportive care for cancer patients. Working in coordination with patient care teams, Alex educates patients on their prescribed treatments and side effect management, provides financial resource coordination, assesses adherence, and works to eliminate barriers and gaps in care. Alex’s patient-centered approach allows him to build relationships based on trust and service, elevating the level of care he provides.
