My name is Latricia Major Maxfield. I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer in Jan. 2012 at the age of 34; after discovering a stonelike lump in my left breast; while performing a self breast examination.
As a single mother (at that time) of three boys; I underwent implanted venous access port, chemotherapy, double mastectomy with reconstruction and Salpingo-Oophorectomy.
With the unconditional love and support from my family; I was able to stand strong during my joiurney without the feeling of hopelessness and isolation. Throughout my journey I learned to live without fear, trust the process and to appreciate every waking day.
Today I continue to spread awareness through social media platforms, host annual breast cancer events as well create lifetime support and friendships with fellow warriors. No one fights alone is not just a slogan; it’s a way of life.
Today I stand healthy, happy and honored to be a breast cancer survivor and advocate.
