I found the lump when I first took a pregnancy test at 5 weeks but I assumed it was just a possible clogged duct or pregnancy changes. When I scheduled my ob/gyn appt they wanted to do a breast exam right away which lead to the diagnosis 5 weeks later.

I definitely never thought that I would have cancer and be pregnant at the same time and the sadness that you feel when they ask you if you want to terminate your pregnancy is probably the worst. I remember feeling so helpless and that I always had to make a choice (or so it felt). When in reality that’s not true.

I felt selfish for putting my baby at jeopardy but also selfish if I didn’t move forward with my treatment plan. It’s an emotional feeling that I hope no one ever experiences.
